Top 10 best universities in Asia in 2020


Singapore's two universities, National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technology, topped the Asian university rankings published by QS on November 27.

For the second year in a row, National University of Singapore (NUS) holds the No. 1 position. QS gives NUS an absolute score of 100 and assesses this university as the leader in providing global approaches to education and research.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) rose one notch, holding second place. This is not surprising because NTU has always been rated as the best young university (under 50 years old) in the world in the last 5 years.

Ranked third in the rankings is Hong Kong's oldest school - the University of Hong Kong, down one notch from last year. As a research-oriented university, the university connects with more than 340 schools in 43 countries. The percentage of graduates having jobs to 99.4%. In addition, Hong Kong has two more representatives of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (8th) and Chinese Literature Center (10th).

With four representatives in the top 10, mainland China shows its position in higher education. In addition to three familiar names: Tsinghua University (fourth), Beijing (fifth) and Fudan (seventh), Zhejiang University first entered the top 10 after rising seven places from last year. The University is very active in innovation, expanding relationships with the top universities of the countries.

The other university named in the top 10 is the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) - the first research-oriented science and technology institute in Korea, established in 1971. KAIST ranked 9th, falling one step higher than last year.

This year, the UK QS educational institution ranked 550 Asian universities, based on 10 criteria, including: academic reputation; employer evaluation; faculty / student ratio; proportion of lecturers with doctoral degrees; ratio of articles on lecturers; cite each published research paper; rate of international lecturers; rate of international students; Exchange of domestic students and exchange of foreign students.

Vietnam has 8 participating schools including: Ho Chi Minh National University (ranked 143), Hanoi National (147), Hanoi Polytechnic (group 261-270), Ton Duc Thang (207), Can Tho ( group 401-450) and Duy Tân University, Huế, Đà Nẵng (group 451-500).
