Limit fast food

Thai people often choose local restaurants with cheap prices, fresher food. This habit directly affects the weight of the general population.

Fast foods like fried chicken and hamburgers are high in calories, trans fat and bad cholesterol, which increases body mass index (BMI). Eating a lot of processed foods also reduces the amount of healthy nutrients you get from other foods.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, fast food can increase the risk of developing obesity, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease and liver disease.

Eat fresh food

Thai cuisine has many fried dishes, but they always come with a serving of fresh vegetables. This helps balance protein, fat and fiber intake.

Daily meals are also often cooked from fresh food, without preservatives. In Thai grocery stores, the frozen and canned areas are also considerably smaller than the fresh ones.
